Firearms Permit Information


Permits: Officer Larry C. Savery

Firearms Permit Fee: $100.00. Cash, Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Marion.

New applicants must first complete a Firearms Safety Class.  Classes can be obtained through private instructors available through most gun clubs or applicants may complete a Massachusetts Hunter Safety Course offered through the Massachusetts Department of Fish & Game.  To sign up for the processing date, each applicant must sign up in person at the department. Applications can be obtained by downloading the firearms application form from the downloadable forms section of this web site. Renewal licenses should not be processed more than 90 days in advance. There is a 90 day grace period for expired licenses.
